What is a Line Party?

The line party, at its core, is just like any opening-night movie line - a collection of serious fans of a given film. The line party evolved from the epic lines for franchises like the original Star Wars trilogy, when hardcore fans would camp outside theatres for days on end in order to get tickets to the very first showing. This concept was refined during the lead-up to The Phantom Menace in 1999, when fans on both coasts coordinated organized, 'round-the-clock lineups outside theatres to raise money for charities. But let's face it - springtime in New York can be beautiful, but when it gets cold and rainy, when streets turn into wind tunnels, lining up outside can be downright miserable.

That's where the line party comes in. We've secured our own private screening, the night before Prisoner of Azkaban opens nationwide, so that you don't have to worry about getting tickets the moment the box office opens. You don't even need to get to the theatre early - seating order will be determined by the order in which tickets are purchased. Instead, you get to spend the evening indoors at a private, fan-only party participating in games, trivia contests, and costume contests, or just hanging out with friends, both old and new. You'll receive a gift bag filled with cool Harry Potter goodies, and have the option of entering a raffle for prizes any fan would die for.

Or, you can wait out in the cold. Your choice.
